Default radiator problem would appreciate help, thanks

I am having a problem with my lsvtec, my radiator reserve always drains and is empty i can refill it its always empty and inside of the reserve there is a dirt like substance. My car stays nice and cool and the needle never goes more than 35%. My motor hits vtec everytime and runs excellent. anyone know what it could be? thanks for your time..

any leak? if not could be a leak into your cylinder. ask a friend to drive behind you while you floor your car to see if there's white smoke. happen to me before, crack my head, coolant leak in.

Its not your head leaking. Most likely its your radiator cap or the radiator neck. My radiator neck was worn out inside and water would leak out. My overflow bottle was always empty until i changed my radiator which fixed my problem. I would check the radiator or the cap.

If you keep having to replace the coolant in your reservoir then you either have a leak or possible blown head gasket.

Yes check your radiator and the cap. But what you need to do is run a pressure test to find the leak. The reason you may not be overheating is the leak is so small you don't loose enough coolant before you refill the reservoir. When you run the pressure test on the cooling system look for the coolant to leak from any coolant hose or line, the radiator , water pump, and heater core. Also pressure test the your cap and see if if holds pressure if it drops then you know your cap is bad. The last thing I would do is remove the reservoir fill it up and look for any leaks coming from it.

An easy way to find out if you have a blow head gasket is to run a block test.
