Default 1st TIME STARTED JDM H22!!WOOT WOOT! Need some help though

GUYS...tonight was the fist time i started the lude in over 5 months. It took about 3 turns of the key then BAM!

Ok...first off..the ignition timing isnt done, can someone give me a basic idea of how to do timing?

It idels at about 1,200. what could be the issue there?

It sounds a but bubbley too??

Also...i had to put a new water pump, so when i was trying to put back the timing belt, i just have this feeling that it could be a tooth off or so. Should i worry about that? what i mean is it maynot be at TDC.

Can you guys just give me some advice for POST installation. What should i do to get it running like a stock BB4?

it also has Check Engine Light. I dont have the down pipe on the exhuast cuz i dont have it, so i dont have 02 sensor on. What things could of turned the light on? Could it just be the o2 sensor not being connected?

Also wanna thank everyone here that helped with the stupid questions i had, cuz i probalby wouldnt have it running right now. This forum has been a big help to me. Thanks Guys!!

Glad to hear you got it going, i was insanely happy when i started mine the 1st time also, yes your cel will come on if any sensor is disconnected, check the code to be sure.

You have to jump the service connector thats behind the radio, i can email you the hole section on cel's, it will tell you how and show you where exactly the service connector is along with all the cel flow charts for diagnosis, really helpfull.

steps to fixing:
1)get a downpipe and hook up the o2 sensor
2)get a timing light, and flash it into the hole btw the block/tranny....line up the second line btw the fork by turning the distributor....

the sound is probably just the timing being off....you should check the cam gears to make sure the timing is ok....

yes, the timing belt cannot be off, even by one tooth.

could it be sounding bubbley because of the engine not being perfect tdc?

The problem i had was getting the belt on without the camshafts moving. the lobes on the shaft were putting enough pressure on the springs to move them. any ideas?

Is there any auto places that rent out timing guns?

Damn..all this fine tuning is a bit hard.

If i connect a 02 sesor to the plug will that turn the CEL off or will it make no difference?

Pull the code and see if its the o2 code, yes plug it in , reset ecu , it will go off if thats the only code it through.
