Overheating Issue b16 turbo solution
I have a b16a with a custom turbo installed. Ever sense I installed the turbo and reduced the size of my radiator my car will overheat when pushing it hard on hot days. I wanted to see if anyone has tried to relocate the cooling system to the back of the car? I figured maybe I could fit a bigger rad. if I went to the back of the car instead of getting a custom rad. made in the front for crazy money.

This is for all the threads I see each day about overheating! If your car is over heating the #1 cause is air in the system.
If you have recently drained and refilled the system then this is almost certainly the answer. Some cars have bleeder valves located near the upper coolant line going into the head. Fill the radiator until coolant starts to pour out of the open bleeder then tighten it up. Cars without this bleeder valve can pull the radiator cap off and warm the car up until coolant reaches the very top of the radiator neck. In either case I le to re bleed the system again after a few miles to make sure the entire system is fully circulated. Some tips include leaving the cabin heater on full to allow full coolant circulation and filling the overfill bottle to its "max" level in-case the system needs to draw in more coolant. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=140774
Other common causes are a bad thermostat, radiator fan isn't kicking on or is inadequate. And in the most extreme case, a bad head gasket will cause overheating as super hot combustion chamber gases are super heating the coolant.
I wish it were that simple. I know there is zero air pockets in the cooling system. I just think the rad. is to small for it to work properly. Also, there is a big intercooler in front, blocking fresh air to the rad. I feel this is more of an issue than anything else. I have a 50/50 mix with water wetter but that's not cutting it either. I have a fan with the thermostat set very low. It does work and it does come on soon after the car is warm. The only time the car overheats is in extremely hot days with the car being pushed hard. Normal driving does not make the car overheat. I would like to see what other people have done. I'm using the full-race shorty custom rad. I think it's 12/12 inches. (Very small)!!

Crap i was planning on using that full race radiator as well.
Can you tell me exactly what the dimensions are to see if that street imports one will work?

I had the same prob when I went FI. Get a colder thermostat (Jackson Racing), Drain coolant and use water and water wetter only(only reccomended for warmer climates), pull the plug which goes to your thermostat and loop the plug with a wire(this will run your fan constantly when your car s running. You could also put some washers between where your hood mounts to the car(this will reduce under hood temps). Worked for me.
