Default 02/WB Sensor Placement In Downpipe. Where for best reading? Preference?

So tomorrow in the freezing cold Im going to be making my dumptube and downpipe.

I have an OBDO Crx running a D series. I have a twintec wideband. So Ive got 2 02 bungs that Im gonna have to put into this downpipe right?

One somewhere near the exhaust housing where the stock 02 sensor goes and one somewhere further down (just below firewall for ease of running plugs/wires?))

I really never thought about it and dont knwo if there are any recommended places or a specific way to do it

Thanks

i dont know about the twintec wideband but with plx widebands i know you can just do away with the stock o2 sensor because it has a narrowband output..

just run your stock sensor up a little higher than the wideband.

I guess I need someone to clarify for me how many bungs I need

Does that mean that one of these wires is routed/connected to the ecu harness to give it a signal?

Im kinda lost as t how it works actually

I would put in 2. one for the stock and one for the WB. If you decide to use the narrowband output you can just get a plug for the front, stock location. I usually put the wideband where a B series front O2 would be. That way you can get to it without jacking the car up (if you dont have a cluster *** of wires and oil lines and stuff behind your intake manifold).

So you think 2 about 6" into the downpipe is the best option?

put it like 20" away and keep it at as close to an upright angle as possible. i made a mistake of putting mine only like 6 inches from the turbine and i foul sensors wayyy to fast

so I put the wideband way down then and a bung somewhere close?

Or both have to be further down now?

no, do you know where B series front O2s are? directly down from the intake manifold and vertical on the tube. Thats a good spot

My vote: as far up your 'bunghole' as you can go, you dirty scamming bastard. I'm still debating on going to the Niagra meet, and using route 404. I have a 10lb sledge with your Si's name on it.
