Default Just had my tranny rebuilt. PROBLEM HELP!!

A local hond-tech member that does tranny work replaced all of the synchros and some other internals in my 97 GSR tranny. Reason for the rebuild was because most the gears would grind or not go in. So i took it to this guy and he rebuilt it for me.. it worked great for 3 days then.....i stop at a stop light and it doesn't go in to gear as if every gear was NEUTRAL! This reason/symptom is why it was rebuilt in the first place.. What could it be? Is there a way to purchase this part new? Please help. thanks

I dont know what you mean by as if every gear was neutral, but if your having trouble getting your car in gear period check out your clutch master cylinder..

Look in the car above the clutch pedal and look around the CMC look for leaking fluid, etc even if there isn't any visible fluid it can still be the clutch master cylinder

Also talk to the guy who rebuilt the tranny, let him know what's going on.

goodluck.

first with the car off shift into all the gears and listen if you hear engagement, so your saying with the car on when you shift into gear your still in neutral engine revs up car doesnt move. if thats the case it seems like your clutch is not engaged, possibly a problem with your pressure plate, or somewhere in the circuit from the mc to the slave cylinder acting as the clutch is pushed in.

Thanks for input guys. I checked out the slave and master cylinder and looks like its fuctioning correctly. Im 99% sure its some internals in the tranny because this happened before the tranny got rebuilt...So basically its something that was put back in place when the rebuilder got his hands on it but came back out.

I was told it could be the diff or final drive stripped or the selector mechanism.
