compressoin #'s ??????
aright i want to know if anybody knows how to figure this out... okay
so we did my friends mini me d15b7 block with d16y8 head with y8 headgasket.. now i did the compression calculator and it "says" 10.5:1 now.. the thing is... we comprssion checked it before we did it and it was 180 across the board... now we did it now its done and its 240 across the board..
i just think that maybe its more than it says.. idk tho anybody know how to convert compression check numbers to actual compression?.

well, its going to read different from cold and hot. so im guessing you guys did the test COLD and got 180, HOT and got 240. as long as the numbers are the same across, you should be fine.
Its something around 17x to 20x greater than compression - usually. The 180 sounds right for 9:1 cold, the 240 seems very high. You should be getting 10.5:1 with a very clean motor, higher with carbon deposites.
no we did both tests 2 times on each cylinder both times when the car was hot and got 180 with the dx motor... the motor has 210xxx miles on it its the piston tops are pretty clean...
but i thought that maybe 240 was pretty damn high because i seen people on here with b16's get numbers like 210 and stuff and those are like 10.3:1 ( or atleast i thought ) but idk.. thanks for the help

did u do something different when u compression tested on the rebuilt motor? 240psi is very high for a mini-me. I'd say 180-190 is fine. how did u get 10.5:1 compression out of the motor?
do the compression calculator....

here i did it all....
d15b7 block:d16y8 head:d15b7 pistons:z6/y8 headgasket
em b7 deck heigth
i seriously think its alot higher because we got 235-237-243-240 i think thats a bit up there it may be more compression we bought the head used and i think it may have been milled i dont know for shure but ... thats some damn high numbers for single cam mini me.. maybe if someone else who has a mini me will do comprssion check hmmmm idk

I got 185 to 190 on my Y8. It has PM6 pistons and a stock head, so compression ratio should be around 10.4 to 10.5:1. This was on a warm motor (not hot, not cold).
