Radiator leak....What could it be
DUDE!!! I have radiator fluid coming from behind the lower timing belt cover, right behind the crank pulley.Actuallly its not a leak..its like a stream of fluid. this is the first time putting rad fluid in, Ive been putting a new jdm h22 in my car and i was about to start filling it with fluids then this happened? Any suugestions. Im thinking the only thing thats on that side that has to do with rad fluid is the waterpump. If it is a water pump, is there any way to change or look at the water pump without removing the engine. CUZ im NOT DOING ALL THAT AGAIN...
Im pretty sad about this....but i should realize that things dont always go smooth. So give me some suggestion on what you think it could be and how to fix it Thanks HT guys.

so you pour fluid in the radiator and it all pours out at the spot your talking about?
Have you already checked all the hoses and clamps and such?

yeah... the rad hoses are good and tight. its definetly coming from somewhere under the lower timing cover. damn..im so exhuasted with workin on the engine..i feel like giving up.
I know how you feel. I had an RX7...haha If you know anything about those you know what I mean..if you dont you will understand If you ever own one..anways..
Hmm. WEll just take off the valve cover. and lower timing cover and see whats up. You might check the helms manual as well.

whats wrong with rx7s? it sounds like a bad water pump. when they fail, theres a weep hole and it lets fluid out. im not totally sure hondas have this or not. if they do, thats what it is.

Im guessing its the weep hole on the waterpump.
Yes you can replace it while its in the car, its just easier when its out.
You did change the t-belt on your engine before installing it, right? If not, this would be a great time to do so while youre changing the wp.

im not really sure what a "WEEP" hole is.
So...my plan is to remove the driver side motor mounts as well as front and rear to lower the Timing side. Does that sound good or is there an easier way? Dude...that was sort of disappointing.
Thakns Guys...big help

well, you cant run them hard and put them away wet like you can on Honduhs...rx7s are alot more maintenance intensive...not changing the oil is the cheapest and easiest way to kill a rotary. I have a built 3 rotor, and its not slow
