I have plans to build a turbo kit for my d16a6.

i have all the mechanical parts now its time for some fuel and spark management.

i have a field sfc and planned on getting an MSD 6btm ignition.

instead of getting the 6btm to help prevent detonation can i just get one of these?

no thats just the btm by its self you'd have to run a 6al with that also,just get a digital 6 and call it good,digital 6 has boost retard,launch control,and rpm limit built in,plus its a better overall unit.

 

what if i ran the btm with the field sfc instead of the 6al, if i get the btm for the boost retard what features would i get out of the 6al? if the boost retard changes the spark timing the help the detonation wouldnt it be doing the same thing as the 6al since the 6al drops the spark when the engine gets to higher revs?

let me add im going by what i searched about these products since i have no experience actually using them.
