Default Civic Swap W/ Jdm H22 ?????

Ok im going to be buying a civic hatch 92-95 body style soon. Im looking into buying a motor for it. after looking i found the motor i want a JDM H22A. First off this is the same motor in the preludes(97-01) in america right if so i suppose all the parts for the US prelude will fit the motor that im buying correct? Also when it comes to buying a catback exhaust, i would get a catback that fits my civic right? Also what is needed to do the complete h22 swap and should i go with this engine? thanks.

Yes, all the parts for the U.S. H22 are the same for the JDM H22. The only difference is the compression. The JDM motor has 10.6:1, the USDM engine has 10:1.

A 2 second search brought up this:

For the exhaust, you can't just buy one for a stock civic with a d16.

And yes, I do think it would be good to swap in an H22.

Lots o fun.

Go here:

Go down to "swaps". Tons of good links for h22 swaps.

Yes you want to get a cat back exhaust that is made for your hatch.
It will either have to be modified or have the H22 A pipe modified.
Stick a cat in there too, somehwere.

To an extent. USDM and JDM distributors are different. Internal coils on JDM, external on USDM. Just use a cap and rotor off a 92-95 Civic and you'll be fine.
