Default Civic Swap W/ Jdm H22 ?????

Ok im going to be buying a civic hatch 92-95 body style soon. Im looking into buying a motor for it. after looking i found the motor i want a JDM H22A. First off this is the same motor in the preludes(97-01) in america right if so i suppose all the parts for the US prelude will fit the motor that im buying correct? Also when it comes to buying a catback exhaust, i would get a catback that fits my civic right or tell me what catback i will need? Also what is needed to do the complete h22 swap and should i go with this engine? what quarter mile times would i expect with this swap and some bolt ons like h/i/e, cam gears, pulleys, vtec controller? thanks.

The H22A swap costs $8,000 to do, just do a B16A and have that super high revving ability and rape H22A's all day long.

WHAT!! $8000, thats overexaggerating. And i dont think the fact that a 160hp motors rev higher makes it faster than a 200 hp motor. (unless you meant future potenial)

The cheapest I've ever seen it done for was $7500 and guy only did it that cheap because he used the stock intake and had no exhaust.

The B16A revs to 8100rpms!! Thats waaaaaaaaaaay higher than a H22 would ever be able to do, even fully built!

Yeah everyone knows the H22 is like 300 pounds more than a B16, it's meant for low revving cars that pull trailers. It makes the front understeer so much you'll need a FWD drift button just to turn the car.
You'll be much happier with a chrysle... errr I mean Evo.

Have you ever gone really fast in reverse and just cut the wheel really deep to do a front wheel drive donut? Well that is what it is like driving a civic with a h22 all the time! I hate h22 swapped cars. Too hard to drive.

dude dont listen to these guys the only thing you need to do is boost your factory motor.......................its capable of hold 315whp on stock internals. and it will run all over any sti or evo

well a boosted b16 or h22 would beat a sti and evo but if its gonna cost 8000$ for the motor and install like these guys are saying screw that ill just put 10g's down on a used evo/sti. actual i dont even know what im talking about i dont know y i would consider a civic over a sti or evo

Why do you want a JDM motor? If you really want to bling it up, go for a UKDM. Now that's tight!

This is true. A friend of mine has a IDM D-series with a turbo, supercharger, and Nawz. He ran a 16.2. Talk about fast!

I was about to call bullshit, but then I remember when my couin had a IDM D16 with just twin turbos, supercharger, and dohc vtec. He ran a 16.12, but he spun the whole way down the track even with 28" slicks.

Holy cow!!! My friend was converted to right hand drive and rear wheel drive. I think the 33" slicks is what helped him out the most. This winter he's converting it to bio-diesel. That thing is going to be sick!
