Okay, it happened twice now, yesterday morning and today morning. When i start the car i press in the clutch all the way, but when I let go its really slow at depressing and when i press it in all the way it seems to have a hard time shifting into gears... anybody know the problem, do i need to flush my transmission fluid? clutch fluid?

 

might be your clutch master cylinder.
i had the same problem and eventually i would have to pump the clutch for like 5 min before it depressed

 

yeah thats how mine is sometimes you got air in your clutch master cylinder, bleed it or replace it.

 

alright thanks guys, is it pretty easy to bleed it? or should i just bring it to the shop and let them do it because i don't have any tools at all heh

This will more than likely fix the problem.

 

Bleeding is easy, definatly do it yourself. Bleeder is towards the front of the engine bay on the tranny and its got a bleeder on it just like your brakes.

 

all you need is dot 3 or 4 brake fluid and a wrench set

 

If it just happened all of a sudden your MC is fucked. Check up under the dash, is there fluid around where the MC comes through the firewall?

 

yeah there is fluid near where the master cylinder goes through the firewall near my clutch pedal... so that means i have to replace the whole master cylinder?

Yes pretty much. Buy a new one or find a used one.

 

Yup, it exploded. I had one do that to me once. Then months later my slave cylinder seized... ******* pieces of ****...

 

Typically the Clutch Master and Slave cylinders wear out at about the same time (same number of cycles). It is usually a good idea to replace both when either fails. If you don't you will be back in there in less than 3-6 months replacing the other one.

 

alright thanks alot, i think im going to buy new master/slave clutch cylinders..... i hope it doesn't take long to install, im going to just bring it to a shop and have them do it.

 

No dude don't do that. They're super easy to do. I did mine in like an hour, and I suck at cars. There are only 2 bolts, the line, and the pedal attached to it. Make sure you use a line wrench though so you don't expletive up the end.

Your post confused me at first because "depress" means to push down..

 

Might even be the clutch slave. If you're low on fluid, check that out.

I doubt it. If you read the thread he's got fluid in the footwell of his car. If you can leak fluid from the front of the trans all the way to the pedals in the car, I'm impressed.

its fixed, i bought a new master cylinder and slave cylinder and had it installed a shop... works like a charm now, and lovin that honda oem
