Default 7500-8000 rpm bog

Well this is something new for me. I was driving and decided to throttle out and when doing so when the rpm needle hit around 7500, my engine started to make a bogging/choking noise. I kept the throttle down and when it hit around 7900-8000 the needle stopped and it just kept making that bogging noise . Never have had this problem before. I check the fluids, good. Reset the ecu and still it happens. Is this fuel related? Should I unplug my VAFC? Any ideas or leads would be greatly appreciated.

i hate to mention this but when that happened to me a rod bearing was giving out causing it not to rev anymore, this could be a last resort but it maybe a fuel cutout also

went outside and found that the dizzy and plugs are in order. Still need to renew the plugs and wires. Figured probably a fuel cut out...tada...check the fp guage and there was only 25-27psi running. Turned it up to about 50-55 and that seemed to solve the problem. Runs right up to redline with no problem. Thanks for the info.
