Default What mods should I get for around $1200

I have a 1997 Honda Civic Ex Coupe, and I was wondering what mods I should get that would give me some more power.

No engine swaps, No Fi, and no NOS.

BTW, the engine is completely stock.

I was thinking about that, I want to do some basic stuff first like strut tie bars etc., but mostly I am tired of my car not having enough ***** for basic highway manuvers like high speed passing etc.

sorry...but decent i/h/e would cost a little less than that, but not really worth it for your D16 motor.

just go with a N20 kit of some sort.

yes i would go with an N20 kit as well or maybe even a turbo. with either one it will be alot of work b/c u still have to build up your engine.lately ive realized my car really does have a pathetic engine but there is nothing i can do about it until i come across a large sum of money. until then i will just have to make do with my intake.

It seems like no matter what I say about what parts I can't get, people still say exactly those parts.

No Nitrous, It won't happen for a long time.

I might eventually get nitrous, but until then, I want to have a good base to build off of. I am thinking about I/H/E and eventually a cam and some spark plugs and wires.

How would that work??

buy a 1st gen b16, and then save up for the rest of the install, or you can buy a used sohc turbo kit fro around 1200

well if you dont want a swap do exactly what YOU want to do ie. i/h/e. and in your own words..build a strong base. in other words you want to go all motor for now... i want to keep my engine in my car since my car is pretty new (itsa 2000) i want to make the car fast as is...no swaps but it takes alot of money to do that.

The reason you haven't gotten many useful responses is bcuz you basically eliminated all methods of getting considerable gains w/ the amount of money you have. You can get i/h/e, but your gains will be minimal. You can try getting a used header ($150), make your own CAI ($40 in parts), and custom crush bent 2.5" exhaust ($150 w/ your choice of muffler)...that's about $350 total. Spend the rest on a Crane cam, valve springs, and some good tuning. You'll notice much better gains than spending all your money on i/h/e alone.
