Depends. What are your goals for this system? SPL? SQ?

I would get what I want not what everyone is telling me to get.

What is it about 10s that made you want them? 94

I have always been told that 10's are more clear. Is that true?

Not at all. The box plays a HUGE role in how a sub sounds.

the box is a very large part to the clarity of the subwoofer.

a larger subwoofer is going to be able to play much lower frequencies than a smaller subwoofer is capable of, but a smaller subwoofer in theory will make higher bass frequency with slightly more clarity..
its personal preference, but a great box is going to be an overall deciding factor..

Like stated above a few times. the box has a huge factor on how the sub sounds. But 1st let me ask you what kind of music do you listen most. Please dont say everything. there is one kind of music that ppl listen to more then anyother.

Like said before ported would be best for you.Get them to tune it around 27-30hz for that deep and low rap bass.

Hard to explain, but basically its how u build ya box and port area.
Read this for a lil better explaination,i wouldnt reccommend u try and build a ported box if u never built one before.
