It would work, but you have a 600W RMS into 2 ohms amp running a 1000W RMS sub.
The Alpine MRD-M1005, [MSRP $600 US] would be a better amp, http://search.ebay.com/search/...M1005 94

I've heard really disturbing rumors about the type X subs, so take it or leave it. I've seen two subs do it, and have heard of at least ten others that after a short amount of use, weeks/months the voice coil seperated from the cone. so the sub looks normal, but just vibrates and doesn't play any music. I have all alpine in my car so I didn't want to believe it, but I've seen two seperate subs do it.

i asked him for a quote, i think he wanted $250, i was thinkin if i do buy that im gunna have someone build like a steel cage that goes around the system, cuz im not gunna have another system like this get jacked, and i was also thinkin is there a way to connect the alarm to the speaker wires, so if they disconnect the speakers the alarm will go off, and if they dont take the speakers out, attach something to the bottom of the enclosure (out of sight) so when they pull the enclosure out it'll disconnect two wires and set the alarm off, its sad i gotta think this way, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do

i'd just get a viper 791x or something, get glass break sensors, and sensors for all your doors etc. then the key is multiple sirens. they wont want to be anywhere near that car when it goes off. not because they're afraid of getting caught but because it will literally deafen them... 130dbs of high pitched tones hurts like a bitch
