Default car wont start

i have a 91 crx si and the problem that i have is that the past couple of days i have been having to slam the clutch pedal just to start the engine, but, just yesterday it would not start for anything i had to push start it. what would i have to do to fix this?, i have already look in haynes manual but it doesnt say anything.

please help.

It could probably be your clutch position sensor. If you look under your dash, you will notice a switch that is located behind the cluch pedal. That switch sends a signal to your starter. Replace the switch. Keep me updated on the outcome.

Yeah i have an 89 HF and there are two buttons pressed when the clutch is pushed in. One is easy to see when looking up at the clutch and the other is on top and will have to be felt for. Just hold it in and turn the key. That was my problem when i would turn the key and the clutch wasnt being registered being pushed in. It may be different for year models buts thats what i know.

An alternative to get the car functioning again is bypass the relay involved with the clutch interlock. It is located above the drivers kickpanel by the hood release. It's visible without taking anything apart. It has a 4 pin connector. Ground the blue/black wire (should be a small one)

My civic is an auto to manual swap, I don't have any relay work for my pedal. The motor will crank over in gear clutch out. Just bypass it all and just throw in it neutral when you start her up, the lazy man way.

thanks i will go and try and find the switches, and maybe bypass depends how hard to switch the switches out.

thats what i did...worked great no problems yet...thats just me tho
