Default ( code 14 wont go away.

i just bought a del sol and it drives good and all but it has code 14 ( idle air control ) ive took it off and cleaned it and put it back on but the code wont go away . ive reset the ecu many times , it just comes right back like ten sec after car starts.. when i first turn it on it idles at about 1.5 K rpms and it kinda bounces a lil almost like a sputtering but not too bad. but i know its cause of the idle control valve. i dunno why . thats the only code too. it drives normal and after a few min it idles normal but not when first started? even if i unplug the IAC it still does it which i dunno how. its the 1.5 single cam motor, i just need it to last for a few months till i do a swap but i want it to be right too.

Do you have a multi-meter to test it with?

You both need new sensors. Sorry, but sometimes you can't fix what's broken for free.

here is the factory manual procedure for checking your iacv. do this first then go buy a new one if you have to. remember folks, you can find a lot of stuff if you search for it
