Default del sol hesitates and idle drops when cold

so today i almost **** my pants when i drove off from my house.

the car would hesitate really bad in midrange.
and i thought i saw the RPM climb but car dont accelerate so i assumed my clutch was about to go out.
i do have gear/mechanical noise when clutch is engaged.
also the check engine light comes on about 5 minutes after cold start driving and once i restart it goes away(i havent pulled the code yet)
when cold the idle drops almost to stall and back up again untill the car warms up.

when its warm the car runs and sounds like it supposed to.

any suggestions?
could that be failing ignition parts causing that hesitation also?

Sounds like rings to me. Do a dry and wet compression test. Might be a good idea to let your car warm up before you drive it.

code 43 for sure and most likely code 41. it looked liek code 51 but theres no code 51 in the book. 41 would make more sense as i was suspecting faulty O2 sensor heater.

but the hesitation would be due to fuel system issue im assuming.

i havent looked into it since i bought it besides checking sparkplugs and dizzy.
so there might be alot of things that need attention and this deuchebag didnt tell me anything when i got the car he said he didnt drive it much which is complete BS cuz he put about 60 k on the car and learned how to drive a stick( i found previous owner of the car.even when i asked the guy to tell me whats wrong and said i will not go after him just want to know what needs to be fixed he still denied everything.

Its ALWAYS a good idea to let your car warm up before driving it on a cold start. At least a little bit. Hate buying cars from people like that. I would look over EVERYTHING. He wont tell you because he probably doesnt know. If you get 43 and 41 at the same time you most likley a bad signal wire from the o2 to the ecu, a bad ground to the o2, or a bad o2 completley. However you only have problems when the car is in closed loop but yours runs fine in closed loop and bad in open. Weird.

yes the thermostat was stuck when i bought the car, it would run almost on zero temp gauge when on the freeway. replaced thermostat and is fine now,
havent looked at the fuel filter yet.

i do warm up the car for at least 2 minutes, usially for about 5 min so its warm inside when i drive it.

i replaced header and used a used O2 sensor from junkyeard, so im almost positive thats the issue since the other one didnt throw a code.

but im kinda suspicious about the stalling.
theres some shady things that the car been through. accident and both axles beeing replaced... rear pass bearing making noise etc.
buildup on valves#3 and 4
bunch of T taps on the ecu wires which he didnt say what they were from either.
and a shift light that i took down.

so ye theres something that is not told between the dude and previous owner lol whoever is hiding it. i really dont care jsut hate people like that.

Yeah the car i have now i bought from and kid and he said didnt use oil. I checked it when bought it and it was full, drove it 30 miles home and was checking over everything and it had dumped 2 quarts on the drive to my house. WTF. Turns out he used the wrong head gasket and it was pouring oil down the back of the motor . Pulled the head off and it was also missing a head stud WTFFFFFFF. He tried to tell me it had a gsr tranny when test drove i straight up told him it wasnt, i know what the gears feel like and it was an ls. I made him drop the price 600 dollars or wasnt gonna buy it cause he lied to me. When i sell a car i tell you EVERYTHING cause thats how it should be. Ill tell you if it loses a drop of oil every 1000 miles or 4 quarts it doesnt matter i dont like to be the guy who fu**s people over like that.

put the original O2 sensor back, all good now.
i think the heater element burned out and it was acting up when cold...
