Default IACV and IDLE issues. everything possilble CHECKED! - give it your best shot. (video incl)

well.

im having trouble with my code 14, and my idle ONLY at 1,500 rpm's.

the iacv i used is the 2nd iacv i tried. wires are good. connector is good. continuity is good. i even ran a wire from a9 to the iacv itself. nothing helps.

i pull the connecter out, no change in idle.

car starts up fine. drives fine. sounds like it hits a rev limiter at 1,500 at 5% throttle. any more throttle and it works fine.

motor is a jdm b16 - stock p28 ecu - gsr 1996 obd2 wiring harness with obd1 jumper harness.

give it your best shot.

here is a video of the problem im having too.

Slight chance you may have your ECT sensor plugged in incorrectly?

Experienced the same symptoms in my 97 ITR. Because my CFK sensor plug was hacked off, I was forced to purchase a new engine wire harness.

After I replaced that, my problem went away.

Reading through this you say "stock P28 ECU"
what map is the P28 running? is it out of a SOHC civic or from a b16 laden delsol?

well, your main issue could be maps for a SOHC motor when running the B16. I have had a fast idle issue also with my P28, but it is chipped and running a tuned map. Once hot it runs fine and idles a little high, but I think I have the solution for that, gonna try it tomorrow to see. Why dont you chip your ECU and put a B16 base map on it?

could it be EGR? have you looked at the fast idle?

I'm just trying to clarify the problem. It idles at 1500rpms? Unplug the IACV and set base idle (the screw on the throttle body)

Or is it that there's a dead spot off idle at 1500rpms? If that's the case then its got nothing to do with the IACV at all, its more likely a nonlinear spot on the TPS or something like that.

Oop, just watched the video, sorry. That's really odd. It limits @1500rpm until the computer goes into limp mode, then allows it to rev up. Still, above 1500 the IACV has nothing to do with it. The computer is sending you barking up the wrong tree there. I can't remember if any of the connectors are the same as the IACV plug... Any chance something is plugged into the wrong place?

friends car does the same exact thing.. quite possibly a bad iacv.. or wiring.. run wires from A9+ i think and A23-.. or it might be reversed. if you get no change with wires straight from the ECU to the sensor then most likely the IACV.. if it does change then your wiring is messed up somewhere.
