wht the difference between a b18c4 and b18c5
was wndering the difference as a civic with b18c4 got traded in at work, and dnt know whether to stcik to the b18c4 or go with a b18c5 keeping in mind tht the b18c4 has done 100,000 miles and could require a full rebuild if it was going to be boosted, hope u can help cheers
yeah great britain in scotland lol, i know tht the c5 is type r n all but is there really such a big difference between the engines, cause i know tht u need 2 change piston n all tht in the c5 as its already a high compression engine, jst need some info on wht would be the best buy?

The B18C4 (EDM 1.8 vtec motor from the Civic VTi, and the Aerodeck 1.8) is the B18C from the Si-G Integra, though both are the same spec as the B18C1 from the USDM 94+ GSR's.
c5: type R
c4: gsr
Out of the box, if you really want to boost, buy the c4, b/c of lower compression. But then-again you want to do a rebuild... so, Id buy the c5 and drop the compression a bit.

Around here the most consistantly reputable is hmotorsonline, but they are in California. So you'll be paying an arm and a leg to get it shipped. I would imagine getting an R motor would be much easier to get over there, considering europe got the typeR... and the fact that you guys are closer to Japan than we are. I know that's not alot of help... but maybe google it

kool thaknz for the help, oh and btw sorry if my spellin was a bit funny but hey were all human and mistakes so ma bad. the c5 should drop straight in , oviously with the proper shafts and linkages , mounts n tht stuff would there be any thing else i mite need apart from wiring n stuff?
