Default B18c2 vs b18c

i recently brought a 94 honda integra vtir new zealand spec, i drove it hard and there is a big power difference between my brother honda integra si vtec. his is like a vtec power difference when it kicks in and mine just feels like the same thing throughtout revving, whats the difference. my compression is 10.0:1 and his is 10.6:1. is it the compression that makes the big difference. mine is pratically a gsr motor, i think?

His Si-VTEC is JDM and so will also have slightly more aggressive fuel mapping compared to your car. As far as i can remember the Aus/NZ integras were 170bhp the same as US GSRs, compared to 180ps (178bhp) for the JDM integras. The higher compression will make a difference.

The B18C2 uses P72 components and is essentially a GSR engine. There maybe minor differences in the power curve, however this is due to air and fuel differences, and factory tuning differences.

B18C3 Continental Asian market GSR equivalent
B18C4 Euro market Civic Vti-S
B18C5 US market ITR

Also only b18c1 and b18c5 are the only one that are printed with the ending number. For the other its just b18c. I think, just read it in a magazine.
