Default Temp Gauge not working & fan not turning on HELP!!!!!!

Alright recently I realized my temp gauge wasnt working and then i few days later i realized my fan wasnt turning on!!!!!!! So ive probibley been overheating. This happened at the same time so i think there related. Ive already:

Changed Thermostat
Changed EGT water temp sensor
Bled Coolant system many times
Tested fan motor

Im thinking its eletrical because of them happening together. Anyone know what fuse/relay would cause this? PLEASE HELP!!

ther are 3 components to the system i think. There is the ECT which control fans, the tstat (Which u replaced) and then there is a relay connected to the ECT. Also there is the CTS (thats what im gonna call it) which goes in your cyl head and feeds the signal to ur oem cluster i believe.

Ok so you replaced the tstat... did u replace the ect? EGT = exhuast gas temperature so idk what u mean when u replaced ur egt sensor... The ECT switch is located in the neck of the tstat housing.

Pull the plug off the ECT and jump it using a paperclip. Then turn your car to on (but dont start it). Your fan should kick on. If you fan does not kick on you have a bad relay, or the fan motor is dead.

If it does kick in, its either your ECT or your CTS. Jump the sensor plug and let us know what u get...

jump its harness, not the sensor itself. If you have it jumped and turn to ACC and the fan doesnt come on than your relay is the cause

im thinking its the CTS sensor, which one is that? Because i already replaced the ECT sensor because there was one already on the spare thermo i put in

Would the CTS sensor cause my temp gauge to stay cold all the time or not work too?

yeah CTS would cause that, its what sends the signal to your cluster.

Im not sure its called CTS, i just call it that cause thats what it does (Coolant temp sensor).

Its right under your dizzy, in the head, its a 1 pin sorta sensor, only 1 pin sensor there, has a black boot over it. I dont know how to test it, you shoudl try just replacing it.

Anyway, that sensor (CTS) is the one that feeds your cluster and could explain why you are always cold (no signal).

Not sure how to test it tho...

alright i stopped by the parts yard on my way to work today to pick up a new cts. I replaced it at work and no change. I think is must be a fuse or sumthing leading to that plug on the harness. Which fuse or relay controls that piece of the harness? I heard if you ground the plug it should make the gauge go all the way to hot if its working. So i'll try that and see, i still think its a fuse/relay problem, though

I'm having the same problem Jon was having back in Jan.
The thermostat, and both temp sensor and fan control sensor have been replaced, along with the radiator. The fuses are good. I can get the fans to turn on by hooking up to the fan control - fans work, but for some reason are not going on by themselves. My temp. gague is cold at inital start up, but only reaches 1/2 way between C&H, the fans never go on. The radiator is getting hot, as well as the top hose - still no fans...and the bottom hose never heats up.
Any suggestions??

nope - the relays are working good. Did the jumper on the wires, relays are working fine. Thinking its something with the thermostat. Took the thermostat out and the fluid is flowing fine. Probably going to try another thermostat and hope for the best. Temp sensor and Fan control sensor are brand new.
