wiring harnesses and soldering
My 92 si had an engine fire. Due to the amount of wires that were burned, I had to cut the wiring harness at the firewall on the passenger side. I was able to cut a harness from a junked 92 cx in the exact spot that I had to cut mine. So, what I am attempting to do is match up the wires and solder them together. I know that just because the wire colors match doesn't mean they'll be the right ones. However, I dont know which ones are correct and which ones aren't. Is there anyone out there that can confirm if the indash wiring from a 92-95 cx is the same as a 92-95 si? Also, has anyone succesfully mated a cut harness together and it worked correctly? Thanks.
Most of the wire colors are unique, you should be able to match them up, and with a helms manual and a circuit tester you should be able to trace anything you arn't completely certain of. The CX and SI harnesses are diferent because only the SI will have the wires for VTEC. (unless of course you find a harness from a 92 chassis, those are all the same)
Good luck!
Good luck!
So, the only wires that are different are the vtec wires? I found which ones they are, and I dont need them anyway considering I'll be using a b18b. I also noticed that where the three plugs are on the passenger side shocktower, some of the wires dont match up colorwise between my cx harness and the sohc vtec harness I'll be using. Can I assume that the wires are correct even though the colors are different?
