when i turn on the car, the car will completely turn off in a few seconds...And this only happens on cold start ups. When the car has warmed up it is fine..
Does anyone know the cause of this?

imskatencrazy....its a fuel pump problem?

civic_driver...how do i check if i get enough air?

update:
the moment the car turns on it turns off right away. The only way to keep it going is by applying gas when the i turn the car on.

If it was that, it wouldn't start at all. Since it runs when you're on the gas, I'd say it's the FITV; it holds the idle high on cold startups.

Oh, just saw this. If it's carburated, possibly the choke / butterfly valve? Check with the EF forum, this one is for 92-00 civics.
