If im right, the only differences are that it is looking to see if the car is in park before it is started. It probably wont start. I know there's a way to convert them, but since most people are giving them away for free just find a new one.

Naw, all the interlock junk is done outside of the ecu. The auto ecus just look for the torque convertor lockup solenoid, and control it. Converting to manual is a matter of switching some jumpers, but I'm confused on a couple points here. First, is your D15B multi point? If you've got 2 injectors, it won't work. Second, the P08 is OBD1, so unless you've converted to OBD1, it won't even plug up. Third, it's for a vtec engine, so you'll have to disable vtec in the ecu or it will be pissed.

obd1 po8 auto to manual.
remove rp17 remove rp18 add a jumper to rp18

open up your ecu, look at the circuit board. next to just about every componenet is a printed label on the board. you find rp17 and rp18, and then get a small peice of wire to cross the 2 holes left by the removal of rp18. i cant tell you where they are located because i havent done an obd1 conversion, but they may be on the side with the plugs about the middle of the board near the edge. but i cant guarantee that. just look.

You need to replace the 2.4K resistor with a 1.4K resistor, which is available from several parts places online, or off a junked ecu. I'm not sure part numbers or anything like that.
