Default OBX LSD ??

Does anyone have experience with this lsd in their D series transmission? The shop that does my work has used one on a B series tranny and they cut 1.6 60ft just fine on slicks but when they broke an axle the lsd would not let go of the axle so they had to rip the pin off the axle so that the lsd would finally let go. I was wondering if this was the same case the D series version. Anyone that has one installed plz let me know how its working for you.

I had a Quaife in my first EF some time ago, It still works to this day! The kid I sold the car still driven' it daily.

I never took the car out to the track after I built the D series motor and trans. I sold the car to fast. Never had an issue

There is one big issue and you have hit it already. It doesn't let go of the axle. It's a super simple fix. Take it to a machine shop and get them to taper where the axle goes in.

The problem is the axle locks in and you can't get the locking ring by the lip off the diff. If you taper where the axle goes in, it will slide out.

Easy fix and much cheaper than a Quaife.

One thing ive learned when building my car, is dont settle for immitations, and dont go cheap. It may take you longer to get and cost more, but in the end, it's well worth it. You get what you pay for.

Running an OBX LSD for one season, pulled the axles out multiply time with no problems. Gonna rip the tranny apart soon and put it into another becuase 2 and 5th are tired on my ZC Tranny.
