Default If you had a stock 98 Civic...

I just bought a 98 stock Civic EX, where would you start the upgrading. I've been doing some reading on turbo's, but not near enough reading time. (If you have a turbo information site, please link it) I just don't know where to start. Should I get the b16, should I stay stock, and go turbo?

Goal: I don't really have a goal on HP just want it.
Money: I have two good job, and can get the money, So no worries.

What would you do, and where would you buy it??

Stock D16Y7, stock intake, stock everything. No exhaust piping off cat. Action 6-puck, Fidanza 7 pound, Omni clutch MC. Stock Y7 gearing.

Stock and bolt on ITR's.

seriously, do research.

my opinion, with no costs barred, its be most cost effective to put in a K20R if ya can get one and beef that up. (cost per final HP that is)

What do you consider "rolled", that **** makes no sense, especially the part about "ITR's on CTR shocks/springs". Sounds to me like you are an idiot.

About what to do, don't listen to what other people have to say, especially on HT, you are going to get a ton of ****-heads talking out of their ***. Use HT to search and read up on what people have actually done, and see if that's what you want to do. Remember, do what you want, not what others say, it's your car.

Rolled = passed on track because I'm faster.

I'm on CTR shocks/springs.

If it was me I would keep it stock and drive it every day, then buy another toy to play with. Do you really want to hamper the reliability of your primary means of transportation?

I bet your little SOHC that's stock really is soooooooooooo much faster than ITRs. I think you forgot to mention that you "ROLLED" them in the pit, when they were getting worked on.

From a fellow road racer: when you pass someone on track in a slow car it's usually not because you're "faster" - it's because the other driver doesn't know how to drive his car at 10/10ths. I've passed Z06 corvettes and SR20DET-ed 240's and RX7's and VW Jettas, but they were probably all "faster" than my car.

So what I'm getting at is that you're being a douchebag for no reason. Shut up and leave.

Uh, public forum. You shut up and leave.

I've done 2 DE's and 6 autocrosses, I'm a ******* n00b at driving. Both of them had equal experience.

i doubt that a stock d16y7 with a good clutch will beat itr's.....sorry man keep dreaming...when i had my mini me 90 hatch with i/h/e, obd1 conversion to run vtec, i barely beat stock gsr's....non vtec d16's will get murdered in a 1/4 mile race by itr's....dont matter if the typer driver know's how to drive or not....my girlfriend driving my 00 si coupe can beat stock single cam civics all day no matter how they launch on her 3rd gear she zooms pass them....

aight u got the money so i would start bolting **** up on the d16y8 that u dont have a y7 the d16y7 is a piece of **** just like the d15z1...ok so u have the best intake manifold ever made for a d-series motor(from honda) smack a b-series throttle body and make urself an intake or buy one.....hearders and cat-back fing cheap for a d-series....DONT LOWER YOUR CAR....d-series are light k-series are a little more heavy wait on ur suspension...ppl say go b16 i personnaly dont like b-series motors oo expensive. if i have 4000 dollars and a stock d-series i woudnt switch to a b-series it only has 160 hp if i pulled the d-series 4000 would get u everything u need like pistons machined crank eagle rods..new moroso oil pan and pump..port and polished head(urself in the garage) headers throtle body..aem cam gear..accel spark plug wires ngk plugs aem fuel rail aem fuel filter..fluidyne radiator..braided fuel lines hondata s200 ecu...lightened flywheel...stage 2 clutch..bandm short shifter..venom injectors...titanium valve springs......and build a perfect tranny for ur d-series (will fit a b-series) how do i know? i build my d16z6 with all that for a little less than 4k....soon to come is a stock ae111 indvidal throttle bodies...and 50-shot nitrous it should be around 290 hp right now thats 130 more hp than a b16a.. with a bigger shot nitrous maybe more but i have to build it again mayb a direct port 200 shot

o btw can smoke stock integras i think i can smoke more than that integras arent 300hp breathing monsters there slow i think i got ur g/fs civic si too but i bow down to k24s and rsx's there quick

...its a 91 civic hatch..striped interior..lexan glassed..all sound deading material removed..doors skinned..shaved..roof choped..sunroof cut (where there wasnt one) inserted carbon......carbon hood..carbon hatch...carbon front fenders...

look up what u want to do see my goal was to prove te d16z6 is a good block and it is now u have a d16y8 a potentially better block and head.....im just giving u ideas man look it up...........so many headaches when i made my car this or that swap and scrap or replace many many decisions man but go basic.....FOR NOW
