Lost HKS SSQV adjustment screw - Will any bolt work >>
i lost the adjustment screw on the back of the HKS SSQV bov on a couple hard runs this weekend. i guess i did not have the nut tightened down.
anyway, can i just use any bolt that fits the hole or is there something special with the stock one.
anyone know the length and pitch of it?
thanks

i think its an npt bolt... try 1.8th... but the bolt doesnt do ****... why do you think the new ones dont have it
i figured as much..
so i can run without it just fine. i figured i was leaking boost without the screw.

hey my buddy has a ssqv HKS on his car and all of a sudden one day it got really quite and he started gettting surge... this is after he put in a different bolt(idk it had anyhting to do with it considering all thjat bolt does is tighten a spring to hold the valve closed while boositing) but it did and he got a stock dsm bov (2 g plastic cant crush) now and it leaks and he only runs 10 psi as opposed to 16psi

it only preloads the spring a few mm or maybe a pound or two... no real improvement when its a pull type valve
well if i get a bolt that is the same length, then it shoudl work the same as the stock one...
i thought she was running a little funny.

im going to be running around 24 -28 psi.
why would it force the bov open with a bolt in there.

no i said that kinda weird, If ur running a good amount of boost which you are, your gunna wanna tighten that bolt down a little b/c the presure flowing in the IC pipes can be enough to force the bov open. Inturn causeing you a boost leak
Soo just tighten it down a bit to preload the bov spring and ull be fine.
