Skunk2 Intake Manifold on 95 GSR?
How do you use the stock throttle body with the Skunk2 intake manifold? The throttle cable is routed from the throttle body in the stock position. How do you change it to work properly in it's new position? My friend is thinking about buying one for his B18C1 powered del Sol. Any help will be appreciated.
How is it not working?...You'll have problems w/ the strut bar/throttle cable clearance...I'm not sure what problem your having...explain...I have a stock tb...and I don't think there is a big diff. between the 95 and 96 GSRs except for the obd1/2
Hey do you have a pic of your engine bay? I just want to see how the throttle cable is routed. In the stock position, the cable seems to be routed upwards. And on a stock B16A or B18A/B the throttle cable is routed straight across towards the drivers side of the car. Do you have to modify anything to route the cagle that way? If you have a close up pic of your manifold and throttle body, email it to me at blacksheepda6@hotmail.com.
yea, u need an SI or ITR throttle body and bracket if u wanna do taht, but it's not necessary, mine just has the strut bar clearance issue but imma get a cheap aftermarket strut bar to fix that

Yo Torrey theres a thread on it where it tells step by step directions and has pics. I searched for it and didnt find it yet. Ill keep looking. Aie might know something about it...try to get in touch with him.
This for Quik?

This what you're looking for, its somewhat helpful at least with installing the IM, it may not help as much with the removal of the current GSR mani though.

Thanks for the pic. So if I use the GSR throttle body, I'll just have to change to a ITR throttle cable and cable bracket.. right?
My TB is tapered to 64 mm at the plate and back. The shunk2 is a 64mm inlet, so there was no porting to do, just a little porting on the gasket.
You can keep your GSR TB and bracket and cable but you have to rig it to work. I had it that way for a while but got an Si TB and brack and cable to look more like OEM.

no probs with hood clearance either.
but b16 TB is a good idea. i never thought of that. i was always thinking of ITR TB
If you want a Type R throttle body JDM honda parts has teh Spoon one for $485 shipped! You can use the stock t/b but becuase the t/b is sitting higher your cable hanger might get in the way of your strut bar.

I have a question also. I just bought a Skunk2 Intake Manifold for my B18C. As you can see, I only have I/H/E for my go mods. After installing it with my stock TB and Cables, will I lose ALOT of power in the bottom end? I know I'll be making power from 5k and up, but I'm just a bit worried I might lose too much on the bottom.
LMK. Thanks!

you guys also know that with the installation of an S2 IM, that you no longer have a second set of intake primaries like you do with the stock IM, I'm not sure what that means for a GS-R since the ECU is programmed to open those at a certain point to allow for more air flow while keeping them closed at lower RPMs for more torque. just thought that might be a relevant issue for someone to talk more about. I have an LS so I didn't have to deal with that issue, but does anyone know what happens with the GS-R Ecu in this case?
Thats the question I had. Since the GS-R's have double runners and the ITR's have single runners, won't it be different? Anyone with some info or answers, please post them! I need to know asap!
here's some archived topics I've found which all have a bit of info about secondaries and the install

Ok. I read those and I'm still not that sure. Now I have ANOTHER question. They said I need to get an ITR AEM CAI if i change to S2 IM?!!! Is that true?!
Also, they don't talk about the Single/Double Runner problem that much. Can someone come out and just clear it ALL up PLEASE?! I have GS-R parts with a GS-R AEM CAI. If I change to the S2 IM, do I have to change my AEM CAI to an ITR one? Also, will it screw up the configs by running with the Single Runner IM? Will I have to change my ECU or Chip it? I will be willing to sacrifice low end if my top end will gain, but if I lose TOO much low end, then I'm going to sell the S2 IM.
So please give me all the details and answer these questions. I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

S2 manifold on GSR is no problem, but you should definately have some fuel control. The ECU's programmed to up the fuel when the secondaries open, so you would be lean from VTEC to 2ndarys and then suddenly stoich or rich. An AFC could handle it.
