anybody got this setup? and can you please tell me what's good and what's not on it? i am thinking of upgarding to the skunk2 unit, before i do, i just want to hear what you expects say about it.........and did you guys reprogram the ECU after this? coz from what i have heard, it will be better to run a different program(even the ITR one will work very good, otherwise a chipped ECU with say mugen or skunk2 progam), and if you guys got any kind of dyno number, that be even better
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance
if i had a scanner i would post up my dyno.
b18c1 with skunk2 mani and ITR AEM CAI, i made 151.5hp and 112.3lbs torque at 7700rpm. you'll lose torque and low/mid end, this is where bigger cams and tuning can compensate for that. but your top end will rock. i wouldn't do it unless you want to raise your compression or/and get bigger cams.
no need to change ecu's even though it would help in the long run. do a search, there was a topic about this a couple days ago taht had some good info.

I think it is well worth it. I do agree that it is prob. best if you are getting bigger cams, but even without the bigger cams it still works. I have the skunk mani and spoon header with a 2.5 cat. I got 169 hp and 119 tq with this. Just yesterday I put a p28 skunk2 ecu from Kenji in my car. No numbers, but something good is definitely going on. I am still planing on bigger cams, but the setup I have does preety good IMO.
Not only will you need a Type R or non vtec integra intake but you will also need these:
Integra-R throttle cable bracket / Honda part # 16411-P73-000
Integra-R throttle cable / Honda part # 17190-ST7-R01
Throttlebody pulley from a non-GSR throttlebody
A GS-R intake manifold gasket

Throttlebody pulley from a non-GSR throttlebody
A GS-R intake manifold gasket

umm......i thought it's just a direct bolt on, didn't know that it involve all those parts, so my GSR intake manifold parts are not useable on the skunk2 one???
Thanks

i use stock GSR TB, cable, and no TB gasket.
thats one misconception out there is that u dont need these parts.

....you don't necessarily NEED them, it just makes everything look better, but your not going for looks when you change out your intake manifold are you?
Yup, due to losing the secondary runners. Also adding to that, the GS-R also has lower compression, and less lift and duration on GS-R cams. That's why you'll low to mid-range torque, with minimal gain on peak torque unless you compensate for the two.

Yes, you will lose low-mid power, but if you have bigger cams installed, it makes a world of difference.
If you want to do it properly, you will need the items as stated above.
ITR throttle cable bracket ($6)
ITR/LS throttle cable
ITR/LS throttle linkage (not at the dealer, going to have to find one)
Definately a new intake manifold gasket (about $10) (they usually come apart when you take the GSR manifold off)
T-body gasket (depends on the condition of your old one)
You also need to relocate the evap purge valve, and possibly extend the wires.
Once done, if you change ECU's to say a P28 with DOHC specs, you'll notice a BIG difference.
Ooo, found a pic.....

the guys who installed my S2 mani never installed a purge valve from the oem mani what i hear, i have no clue what it is but it does throw a code 92 insufficient purge flow, how much to pick one up? either that or imma just sue the place they fucked up my head too... ahhhh i dunno tired of shop dicking me around.

My car is right hand drive do you i still need to replace the throtle cable?
Any where with step by step instructions with pics? I hear installing the fuel rail is a bitch.
anyone?
Cheers.

wow.. misinformation really sucks!...
Anyway, if you are cruising big cams or using boost the mani isn't needed for a street car. The ITR cable and other crap is NOT needed. I made an adapter out of scrape metal for my setup. Basically all I did was drill three holes into the aluminum and lower the linkage mount by one bolt hole. There is only one piece of aluminum in the pics below but I actually used two so the spacing would be correct. I also had to adjust the angle of the bracket fork(the spot where the cable passes thru). This TB cable mod cost me $0.00 and 20 minutes of tinkering.
My car is RHD too...
If you go to my site you'll see the normal GSR cable on the S2 mani. The angle of the cable stay fork had not been adjusted in these pics.

All you need extra for the install is some extra vacumm hose and a brass t fitting many people (including myself) run the stock gsr tb.
Once you've done that you then need a vtec controller or ecu mod, because the GSR's vtec ingages at 4400 rpm's once you have the single stage skunk11 on you need to set it around 5000 to 5300 almost like a typeR.

Is this THE "Neme-shop" or is this just a shop u go to.. Hopefully u can give us the info on the shop, so we can get the word out..
As for all the other posts above about not needing the ITR parts: Spend the $40 on fkn parts and make it clean.. We don't need any more swaps looking like **** with all this fabbed sheet metal, where all u needed was a $15 part..
