YIKES.. overfilled oil.. then raced
well anyways.. i did an oil change last wednesday. the h22a takes ~ 5 qts of oil. when i was done filling the 5 qts.. the dipstick still showed the oil level low. so i went and put another quart in. dumb move? after that the oil level was in between the two markers. so anyway, today i checked the dipstick to make sure everything was good.. the oil level is WAY ABOVE THE UPPER MARK. at least double the length of the distance between the two above.
tomorrow im gonna let out some oil. my concerns.. that wednesday night we went to the drag strip. and for the hour drive home i drove pretty spirited to say the least.
what damage could i have done? how would i go about diagnosing it?

No dont worry, just change your oil. and you DID wipe the dipstick and then redip it into the pan correct? cause if its as high as i think your saying youll smell the oil burning and youll be shooting smoke

The oil system is pressurized. But this only applies to the oil that is being pumped to the bearings. NOT to the oil in the oilpan. So nothing is going to blow. The only potential problem that could occur from overfilling is oil starvation due to foaming from agitiation of the oil by the spinning crank. But if it is only a little overfilled (ie a quart or less), this is probably not going to happen.
