Just got my b swap, now what all do i need to drop it?
I drive a EG 4 door EX. right now it is bone stock. Yesterday i got my b16a2 which is the obd2 motor out of a 2000 civic SI. It came complete with the whole motor, dizzy, shift linkage, IM, tranny, axles, ECU and a obd2 GSR engine harness. He told me this was everything id need for the swap. But i was told i might need a power steering pump from an integra and i was also told that my ac sytem wouldnt need to be touched. I have a friend who says the wiring will be easy but id like to know what all needs to be done.
power steering pump should be fine, as for a/c, you'll need the a/c compressor mount from a 95-up del sol DOHC VTEC
NOTE: I had a friend look at it and he told me i would need the T bracket from a GSR because its longer. can anyone confirm?
make sure the harness isnt a right hand drive harness. thats where i screwed up and had to cut mine out and install a left hand drive harness with the engnie in the car. what a bitch, took 3 hrs. good luck
haha i have the whole gsr harness, its not rhd, but the guy helping me told me to keep the harness and ecu and sell it because we wont need it the way hes hooking it up. I guess hes just gonna use my obd1 harness. But seriously can anyone confirm that you cant use that T bracket on the back of a b16a2 when dropping into a eg? because my friend says i will need a gsr one and i think he already found one for me.
