Should i pay to swap for the h22 or just put that money into building on the f23? Thanks in advance

i would get the h22 and build it.

 

How much money you have to spend?

A boosted F23 is hard to beat. You should consider that.

 

Ive heard that the h22 is better to boost in general, but I havent heard about any boosted f23's...I might just boost the f23 if its worth saving the money

do you have an auto or manual? are you definitely planning to boost or is going all motor an option? i have an auto with the all the basic bolt ons plus a dry fogger set up with a 50 shot. i haven't had any problems with this motor but if i had to do it all over, i would just swap to the h22 stick conversion.

 

At the shop I was quoted at 1700 installed on my stock auto trans. That sounds good but Im already on my 3rd tranny (internal problems fixed under warranty) and Im not sure about running any extra power though this one since its making noise again. But Id go all motor with the h22

 

i would just do the h22 stick conversion then. more reliable and more power.

i don't have any track times or dyno sheets on hand. i can try to get some dyno numbers as soon i have some extra cash, also i have to reinstall the fogger kit. the only thing that i can say that would give you an idea of the power increase is that i kept up fender to fender with a tl type s a while back. that was surprising to me and the tl driver.

in all seriousness it depends on how long you intend to keep ahold of this car, how much money you have to spend and if you plan on also doing future modifications as you move into the future. If you dont plan on having the car for more than 2 years, boost the F23, but if you want a project vehicle that you can keep building and want to keep for a good amount of time, go with the H22 conversion

 

What about just building an all motor F23... If you already have the engine, why not?

 

i never said that wasnt possible, however, it depends on how well taken care of the F series was before he decides what to do, swapping the H series is a better idea if your planning for future mods, simply because your starting from 200hp without any upgrades made and the engine will most likely have alot less miles than his F series does now, itll last longer, its a better base for a major project car.

I am going to do the simplest and safest (only looking for 300-350 whp)
i will be buying the fings rods and pistons since the f23 sleves are already iron with a nikasyl coating ment for lubrication

the stock ringlands are weak the rods arent really that great eaither

I am going to go with a gt27r hopefully

and i am totally parting together

the only thing i have is a log mani so far though but i do have plans also taking welding classes witch is going to be more of an investment in the long run but will pay for itself

Not bad at all. Those things can move.

I'm curious to see what your numbers would be off the nitrous.

But back on topic... the H22 isn't good for boost right off the bat. I've heard numerous horror stories.

 

Since I was quoted at 1700 for the engine and install on my stock auto tranny I think Ill set my budget at 2000, but my engine is a baby (63000) and if I swap I plan to keep the f23 anyway. Should I get the engine for that price, or do the internals and add boost

then you are talking to some stupid *** people the f blocks are way better for boost.

this topic has got to be the most played out topic go search there is like 2 million ******* threads on it

but i would say go with the h22 and build
you dont need to boost the h22 to get some good numbers

why would you hold off on the stick

go get a H that has a tranee with it

your auto just wont cut it plus it would be easer to just do it all at one time

there are some shops up in BC that will sell you tranee and all for like 2Gs

 

Accord auto trannies suck to begin with. Put the power of an H behind it....
