I hve this problem when i punch my car in first the vtec work fine but when i shift it to second the vtec doesn't kick and so on. Whe i was on a highway racing this guy in fifth gear about 5500 rpm the whole car just shut off, the engine is still on and i still had my feet on the gas. I check my engine code and it said:Vtec Malfuntion:Crank Postion Sensor:Idle control valve it might be one of these problem. thank

 

need new sensor i guess....i never heard of IAC valve causing vtec not to engage.

 

which sensor?? so nothing is wrong with the vtec solenoid?

 

crank position sensor. solenoid should be fine..if it were bad vtec wouldn't engage on frist either!

 

u should try cleaning the vtec selonoid because sometimes when it gets dirty and clogged it wont kick in.. check your oil too.

 

...and stop street racing.

here here. Take it to a track to race it will save peoples lives and give cops more time to stop people they need to instead of towing ur car to the pound

Better yet drop your car off on a street in TN and I'll come take it home with me so it won't be abused anymore.
