car has cold start problems.. i have a b18b i have to keep my foot on the gas in the morning until the car warms up or else it will die at idle... its the idle control valve correct?

 

could also be the fitv. fast idle thermo valve.

its directly below the throttle body, the backing has a plate thats removable, then theres a plastic piece inside that gets screwed back in.

i would also clean out the iacv.

 

mine doesnt have that.. i know what your talking about though.. there is nothing on the bottom of my t/b except two nipples with coolant hoses.. i cleaned out the idle control vavle 3 times already but no change

which year is the b18b? obd1 or obd2?

can't help you if we don't know the engine year, mods done, etc......blah blah blah.

 

For obd2, try unplugging the charcoal canister switch. Sometimes it gets clogged and messes with your vacuum at idle.

 

dude I have had the same problem for years, Still havent figured it out!

 

where's that at? and yes its odbII and its a stock swap no modds yet except intake and stage 2 clutch

it could be your charcole canister. I have a 96 and remember that there was an emission recall on that year. When i got it serviced thats what they replaced. I had no problems at the time, and still dont. But it is worth looking into. i think it is on the pasanger firewall.

i believe that G3's dont ahve a FITV for future reference. adn im having the same problem i think its the IACV but im kinda lazy to check it out. Mike.
