Is this a problem??
My cylinder head gasket seems to be leaking. Do you think this will cause a problem on how my motor runs and operates? Or what should I do to stop the leakage?

if you see it dripping down it is most likely the cam seal, not the head gasket, i have the same problem and one of my friends did too, just replace the cam seal and if thats not it then check out some other stuff before u go taking the head off.
It does not have to be the head gasket dude. The cam seal is right above there. I have the same problem. I think if your head gasket wa leaking your car wouldnt be allowing oil to get out while still being able to do its job. It is the cam seal. Or, possibly the distributor seal (I think that is the other seal in that area)....I would check the two I mentioned first before you go wasting alot of money..
Actually., i don't think it's ur head gasket, my car looked exactly like that, and all u have to do is change the cam seal, go with a STR w/O-Rings there the best...and problem solved.

Okay, if you have a VTEC motor then I would almost guarantee that it is the VTEC oil pressure switch. I have seen dozens of those leak, and if it's not that then it could be the cam seal.
Could it still be the head gasket? Sure, but not likely. How about check all the way around the head, and if it's leaking in other places then you should be worried about the head gasket.
Try the VTEC solenoid and the cam seal - cheaper and easier. Always start with the simplest and cheapest **** first.
BTW: Sorry, but STR cam seals/plugs suck. I have seen nothing but trouble from them at the Honda/Acura shop that I work at. Good for you if they work for you, but 9 of the 10 I've seen were leaking. I would not trust an aftermarket company like STR (show pieces mostly) to seal up my Honda motor - genuine O.E Honda seals will be the best. Not trying to be a dick, but that's what I've seen.
Let us know dude.

It's teh cam seal.....
I had the same problem with my B16a1 in the CRX.
The plastic gets old and hard and doesn't seal well and the oil leaks out. Just replace it with an OEM piece. $3 max.

A previous post mentioned a logical first step in determining where the oil leak is coming from by using brake clean and then running the motor.
There are three probable locations where the oil is coming from:
1. VTEC solenoid gasket - Not likely but it is possible. I have not seen one go bad in the last 10 years.
2. Cam seal - It is a possibility. It can be determined using the brake clean method described above. Honda redesigned the cam seal for the B-series motors a couple of years back. The newer ones use an o-ring.
3. Head gasket - I would put money on this one. I have seen dozens of Honda head gaskets leak oil from that corner. Especially on the 1G B16s. It has happened numerous times when people run a modified (thinner) Honda head gasket even with the use of copper spray.
I had a friend that had the same problem. He had the head and block resurfaced as well as replacing several head gaskets and the problem still persisted. Every possible solution to the problem was tried to no avail.
Good luck. I hope you fix it.

I just went to my mechanic and he cleaned all that dirt and grime ****. He told me to come back later in the day so it will be easier to spot a leak IF there is one...
