Which block to start with... still undecided b16 or b18
Well after a couple of weeks of talking to different people I'm still undecided.
'90 CRX SiR with a B16A obviously with 230,000km on the clock at 97.3kW @ the wheels
My ultimate goal is 150kW @ the wheels which isnt an imposible target really.
150kW @ wheels staying N/A
but the main thing I want is for the motor to rev quickly and easily. Factory not really a huge difference but with new valve train and cams etc etc
Ideas, opinions and most impotant of all personal experinces welcome...
The last thing. B16 and B18 mounts are the same yes?
Thanks
edit:: were also working on changing the ECU to OBD1 so we can chip it to use with the current engine for now...

I like the idea of 1.8L over 1.6, I like the idea of the B16a head over the gsr head, so I would have to say Type-R as it has the best of the best of both worlds, BUT at high costs. yes the mounts are all the same. but realistically you could go with a sir-II second gen B16A (170hp or whatever that turns into in kW heh) and OBD-1 and hyrdo transmission, etc, etc....
I would stay with the b16a since you already have it..Just do alot of headwork and tune it to the max and maybe even get an individual throttle body setup
GSR....Got a modded one in my Ef9 and a stock one in my DA even in stock form I love it. 1.8 all day! With a decent flywheel, nice cams and valvesprings, and port polish if you please you can make nice power. BTW you don't need to rev the **** out of a motor to make power. Have fun whatever you decide to do....
