Default have some noob questions on a deck plate

Hi,

I have a b18b block and I am considering to make it a 2.0 using a deckplate. But I have some concerns.

- can I use my stock crank?
- what length rods do I use? ( want to have a rod ratio of about a stock GSR if possible)
- what pistons?
- what timing belt
- what header can I use? off the shelf or custom?

I am keeping my non-vtec head(for now), is there an off the shelf header I can use that will clear the oil pan or will I have to go custom?

and what other concerns do I need to consider when using a deckplate to reach 2.0? or 2.x ?

its either this or a stock jdm b18c.

I posted earlier and someone mentioned LS/vtec but I don't think I'll be happy with that...

or does someone have links/websites on how I can calculate the lenght of the rods and stuff?

oh, and cost?
i'm thinking about 4-4.5k? woudl that be enough to build a 2.0 nonvtec? if not, what would my cost be (approx)

thanks.

So you're adding a deckplate to increase displacement, but you want to keep the same crank... Am I missing something? You can get to 2.0L by boring it, no deckplate required.

I really dont' know...

I guess I need a diff crank then.

what size is the b18b? 89mm? I thought it was a 92mm.

so I need a 92mm? what other engine is that out of? or is that aftermarket?

I was worried about rod ratio and strenght of boring it. I want to put turbo on it later, so I want it reliable.

probably be easier for you to just get it sleeved. run 84x89, and you will be right around 2.0L. your R/S will be the same. and the LS crankshaft is 89mm

I haven't thought about boring.

would aftermarket pistons have piston slap? or is that a myth/thing of the past?

also, what process is needed or how to you match the head to the new bore size?

thanks
