Default vtec killer compression question

hi guys i have been reading for a while on this forum
and iam having quite a problem with mi new na setup

mi setup is as follow
dart block
eagle 2.1 l stroker kit
with knife edged crank
compression should be around 12.5
my heads been fully ported
and i have twm 50 mm itb
now resently i purchase some toda vtec killer and i got it tuned
with my aem ems and i got a very disapointing hp number 202

now my question is i got a compression test and i only got 120 acros all cylinder
wen i asked my engine builder he told me it was normal because the cams are so agressive that the valve stays open so thats why it reads so low

i tried searching and got noting i need help with this proble because i spend quit a bit of money on this setup and i know ther is very qualified pepoal on this forum ...

pleas give me your opinion and feadback....

btw i almost forgot these run were mad on a mustang dyno and the engine dosnt make power well i think it mad power only to 8250 rpm is this normal ?
i mean i taught i t would climb faster and harder then that every tings been lighten i even have a 7 lbs flyweel and a jdm type r trany with a 4.78..

check your valve clearences, mabe they are to tight, those compresion # are way too low even with big cams the compresion should never be that lowit should be in the 200s with your set up,thats why you got low hp for your set up....hope this helps!

thanx for the imput nos 51
wath should i expect with a setup like this and how high should it make power??
enny one else had experience with thes cam ?
how mutch power did you make and wath was your setup?
how high did it make power too?
i need help.....
oh ya i called toda and told them my setup and they told me they made these cam only to run in one class and that ther pos! LOL.... great
they told me to go with the new c.s instead and i should gain a good amount of power
i will do the jump but iam worried aboult my compression ratio and the disapointing power they make....
i taught i would atleast make 230 whp
are these number unrealistic ????? from these cam

yea you can get alot more agressive cams now lol,but they sounds cool....i believe they are simalr to toda c cams.also dont despair yet if you are already making 200hp with those low compresion #s there is hope.also how is the idle and drivability on those killers?

the car used to pull more the first 2 or 3 days i had it, yesterday i put it back on the dyno and i hit like 161 whp but i tink is dyno was screwd since it wasnt at the same place ..
but if these numbers i had on my first dyno day with the car where made wen the compression ratio was ok then iam very far from the number i want to achieve.....

i had a discution with my engine builder just 5 min ago
he told me not to compare with numbers i see on the internet becaus the are unrealistic
end that most of them are on dyno pack and that ther is a 30% difference
i tink its bs
with all the stuff i have i should be making the numbers iam supposed too
especialy with the bigger displacement factor i mean noting as been overloocked i dont get it ....

the cars idle a bit ruff and i have a lack of response under 3000rpm i taught that would improve alot with the twm itb other then that i have no torque at all but i tink its mostly because of the cams how high do these cam usualy makes power too ???

The main reason most of these Hondas with moderate compression (11.5-12.5) make such high psi with pretty big cams (Skunk stage 2 etc.) is because the compression test is done on the primary lobes--even if the primaries are bigger than stock primaries, they are still relativley small with little to no overlap--so the compression numbers are going to be high. 250-270--even up to 300 psi. As an example--I have a 13.2:1 d16a6 with a Gude Gorilla cam--which is a big *** cam, since the compression test is done on the actual "big" lobes because of no vtec--my compression numbers are all about 205-215 psi. I heard of someone with the vtec killers a couple years back had them in a 15:1 motor and got readings of about 205 psi. 120 does seem awfully low. that is why HUGE cams need alot of compression to even run.

It also sounds like the Vtec Killers were truly made for very high compression or short duration racing. Perhaps they need at least 14:1 to run properly. It might be that there is so much overlap built in, that with your 12.5:1 motor, the cams are bleeding all the air out--and making alot less power than they should. I bet a less aggressive cam would make more power with your "moderate" compression.
