need tuning/fuel system advise for turbo d16
im working on a turbo kit for a 96 civic ex (d16y8 w/ obd2 ecu). i have most of the parts i think i'll need, i just need some advise on what else i need to get, and finally how to tune my ecu. the block is stock, with a p&p head, and im gonna put a crower turbo cam w/ their springs in it. im going with the turbonetics hybrid t3t4. i have pretty much everything that comes with a typical turbo kit. i also have a 12:1 fmu. if i use this, what injectors should i use? what will i need to do or buy to get my car tuned? people have recommended that i get an obd1 ecu and get it chipped. i can get an ecu chipped by jet for free, so id like to utilize that if i can. i really have no idea what to do, but i want to make sure the result of this project is a fast reliable economy car, not just a waste of a lot of money. i'll take any advise i can get.
Ditch the FMU. Get an OBD2A->OBD1 conversion harness with a chipped OBD1 ECU. Have it tuned with something of the likes of Uberdata or Crome. If you have the money, Hondata is a nice option as well. Although for nearly free, you use Crome which does about everything Hondata does.
PGMFI.org will have all the info you need on the rom editors and basics on how to tune.
To run DSM 450s you'll need a resistor box and Rom Editor to control it. Don't waste your time with the Jet crap.
