Fuel pump cutoff question
Personally, i love the idea of shutting off the fuel pump with a switch, but, however, i do not like the idea of lets say someone does get into the car, and tries to dry start the car. Any dangers of that?
IE: some idiot cranks and cranks, and cranks. They get nothing. Spark plugs firing, and starter is cranking. No fuel to start.
So, sounds to me, yes it may prevent your car from being stolen, but, damages resulting in a dry start? Anyone care to add input?

I've actually forgotten to flip my switch on more than one occasion.
It doesn't appear to do any immediate damage. If it happened for about 20 minutes, 5 days a week, maybe.. otherwise the only risk you run is shortening the life of your fuel pump.

If the Pump is off, how is any damage going to occur?
Kill switch like stated is fine and no harm will come out of it.

Agreed. The only damage I see is if as stated before, you forgetfully and constantly crank again and again day after day is shortening the life of the starter.

Only a fucken moron would and could do that...
Before the starter would get damaged the battery would die, therfor saving any damage to anything.

I agree. However, with many past "On no, I did (insert idiotic action here)" threads, I thought I would mention the possibility of shortening the life of the starter.

Most likely, yes. But there are always quirks now and then.

It's one if you go out just driving, but beating the expletive out of someone elses car is just wrong.
