Default fuel pump question (NOT NORMAL)

hey guys yesterday when i went to go to start my car the fuel pump didnt prime and the main relay doesnt click its kind of a hit or miss.i also tried a different main relay and it didnt fix the problem so i think it might be the fuel pump.would a dying fuel pump cause this to happen and also cut out while driving. I went to recheck it and now when the car shuts off by itself the fuel pump keeps on turning on every like 2 seconds???and keeps on re-priming. what could it be?? ive checked all the grounds and fuses too.

It's a possible suspect for the symptoms you've listed. So is the Main Relay. Do you have a Helms manual? What about a multi-meter?
