Default Kill Switch

OK i dont know much about this area and yes i searched...My question is, if it is better to put the quick switch on the starter or fuel pump? Someone told me that if i put it on the fuel pump, it will somewhat regulate it and it wont work as it should......???? Help me out here

Starter they can jump real easy.

If you do the fuel pump switch right you should not have any issues

Do the FP, it's pretty simple.

I did both. For the fuel pump, you simply splice a 30amp 12 volt automotive rocker switch into the fuel pump power wire. For the starter kill, you need a relay. The cool thing about the starter relay is that you don't have to cut your factory wiring. Pull out the black/white wire from the top of the starter and you'll see it's terminated with a female quick disconnect. This can plug directly into your relay, then you get some 8 ga wire and go from the relay to a female quick disconnect to the starter. Now you get some 18 ga wire and ground one side of the relay, and run the other side to a switch, then the other side of the switch to a female quick disconnect to the fuse block where there is a row of empty slots, two of the slots being a constant 12 volts. I guess there's still a lot of people that haven't seen my site.

Definately get a FP cut off, very handy.

well i see the vote is for the fuel pump...ok I think i will go with it. One thing though, my friend has it on the fuel pump on his GSR also and he says that having it on the fuel pump shortens its life span???? he says it's because you always turn it on and off.. Is this true?? ONce again i am new to this kill switch ****....

you are not actually turning it "on and off" because when you hit the switch, there is no power going to the fuel pump (at least i hope you are not hitting the switch with the car running).

Just dont hit the switch when the car is running. Fuel pump will be fine.

Exactly. And besides, turning the pump on/off doesn't hurt it. The ECU turns it on/off all the time. When you put the key to the on position, it comes on for five seconds and then switches off. People come up with **** that sounds plausible, but just isn't true. The only things that hurt a fuel pump are 1) overheating it by running your fuel level too low, and 2) putting something nasty in your fuel tank that overwhelms the fuel pump sock.
