Default B16B bottom end with B16A head

As all B stuff is interchangeble, just wanted to know would there need to be any changes to have a b16b shortblock and b16a head, if so what parts? I currently have a b16a motor.

Thanks.

b16b is the same block as GSR/LS/TYPE R.
Rods, Pistons, Crank, Cams, Valve Train make it uneake

if your looking into building the b16b it would be wise to put an itr/gsr crank.
then after that it won't be a b16b anymore. what makes the b16b motor is the rod ratio. b16b parts are exclusive for the b16b. there is no point in getting the b16b block if you wanna build it you might as well get a gsr/itr block.

Give us a little information about what you are gonna be asking the motor to do for you. All-motor, F/I, Nitrous. A little bit more information will help us help you.

All motor, i currently have a b16a, rmf header, 2.5" straight through with test pipe. Fuel sorted and tuned with Hondata. Im thinking the higher CR of the B16B bottom end would mean getting the most out of the m22x cams/built head instead of a b16a bottom. Car daily driven and im aiming for around 200+ whp.

Why not throw CTR (PCT) pistons in the B16a and now it is a B16b. Most CTR's can be had for $350-$400 with rings. Machine work wont be so much you cant afford to do it. Expect atleast a $200 machine bill. Sometimes less. My opinion anyway. Or if you can get a GSR block throw your B16a pistons in that with the B16a head and there is a Poor Mans Type R. Thats what I am doing!

If I understand this correctly, you are not going to replace any internals. If this is the case, switch to the b16b block. But, keep your b16a block in case you decide to boost. You could sell the b16b block for more money than you could a b16a, meaning more money for parts should you decide to boost.
