No....
Here's why, The B16a Motor has very good Geometry. The Rod\Stroke Ratio is 1.74:1, which is almost 'perfect', depending on your point of view.
It causes very little sidewall loading and is very easy on the bottom end parts.
When you rev a motor with 'bad' geometry, it causes massive fatigue to bottom end parts, such as: Rods, Bearings, Etc...therefore you have to 'brace' everything ala, Crank Girdle.
This is why B18C1, B18c5, etc...are girdled, but the B16a and B18B are not...
The B16a doesn't need it, and the B18B was never meant to rev.
