Default B16B Civic Type R

Hey,
I reciently heard a vicious rumor that a B16B is infact not using a B16A bottom end, instead a B18C bottom end, with B16A crank and longer rods. Any truth to this guys?

It has the same deck height as a b18c but its not a b16a crank its a b16b crank. Just a destroked GSR crank with longer rods. Do a search next time this has been covered many times before. HTH

it is true. a b16b is a b18c block (p72), a 77mm (b16a) crank, but has wider, gsr rod journals, longer rods. and a b16a head. its basically a high revving, road race type engine from the factory. the piston sits in the hole because of the taller deck height, this is also the reason for the big dome piston that gets the compression to only 10.8 to 1. many people to not understand this, and then use these pistons in engines like b18's and the compression ends up being too high for pump gas.
