Which would be better: build engine harness from scratch or buy new one and modify?

Hey guys,
Progress on my project car is steadily moving along. However I was thinking about making a new engine harness. I wanted to make it completely out of scratch though. How hard or how common is it to make an entire swap harness using spare plugs and brand new wire and bundling it up and wrapping it up in split wire loom? Or would it be better to just buy a brand new engine harness and have the plugs soldered on for my B18C. I wanted to do this so that I know that all the wiring is brand new and not corroded or anything.
TIA
