INSTALLING XM WITH SR1 GLASS MOUNT ANTENNA PROBLEMS HELP
I just installed a XM radio with the Terk SR1 glass mount antenna and am having problems with receiving a signal to activate it/receive my programming. Has anyone had this problem? I have the power all hooked up to the antenna and the box, and still no activation yet... i called.. they said bad install. any suggestions?
Check and see if channel 1 is coming in.If it is then it a problem at xm if it is not then it is an install problem.Make sure there are not defroster lines between the two ant. pieces or the little black dots.
Yeah... turns out there was a misprint in the manual. The IP BUS cable was supposed to be plugged into the IP BUS OUT on the XM , as opposed to IN... I'm not sure if the connectors were improperly labeled or the instructions were... but it's workin now. Thanks!
I did that on my first xm install too!!! and so did one of my co-workers. Because they put the IP bus "in" next to where you plug the power plug into. So don't feel too bad....
haha, that was so stupid of pioneer. think of how many people have done this... i thought it was something with the glass mount antenna at first...
Aw, no not the SR1. It looks like a huge plastic ***** or *****.
I was going to pass on a free XM box and SR2 because I don't want a silly looking antenna on my car until someone I know came in with an SR2 sitting in the rear deck of this S4 and I started hearing rumors of people sticking them in their fenders...and they worked.

I've actually got a dealer unit. I have the SR2 on my car where the rear windows squirter was. The SR1 was on my friends car. I love XM so far though
