Default bc3+ what vtec x-over (only temporary)

Before anyone starts flaming me, THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY, I will be getting it tuned within the next couple of weeks.

Setup:
JDM GSR stock bottom end, stock 10.6 cr
Buddy club spec3+
skunk2 IM
RS machines 3angle v-job
stock valves, itr outer, portflow inner, itr ret's
jdm itr style 4-1 header, testpipe, sk2 b-pipe, itr axleback
fake j's intake
p28 w/ kenji chip

Now, kenji setup my chip for 5900vtec 9100 redline. I am by no means planning to take it nowhere near 9100, most is 8500. I definately feel a major dip in power before vtec, since 5900 is pretty high, and I fall way out of vtec shifting at 8k rpm(taking it easy, no need to push it yet with no actual tuning). the uninformed would love the crazy kick when vtec comes in tho haha

For the time being, I'd like to lower the vtec some with the vafc2. Anyone with bc3+'s and similar setup have any suggestions? And again, this is only temporary until I see the dyno.

For those that are wondering, my setup is running beautifully for havin just a chipped p28

Mine's at 5900 on my ITR and it feels great. This is the number we arrived at when tuning on the dyno.

Do you notice vtec at all after getting your setup tuned? I've heard nothing but great things about how smooth the vtec engagement is after it's tuned. Can't wait

*edit....i assumed you have the bc3+ cams as well?

5600 on your setup, No vtec engagement felt. Mine is very conservative timing 26 deg total, I also added .5 extra fuel at tq peak and high rpm, anyway 181whp/130tq/8100 redline AEM cai though, I am VERY curious what numbers you will get with that intake...

I'd say anywhere between 5300-5600 would be a good place to start...i think with the GSR tranny if you set the engagement high like around the 5800+ rpms and you're shifting at 8k, you might be dropping out of vtec.

I'm running 11.4 compression, and I have my vtec at 5k... on the dyno, my power started to drop off after 8400.

I'm on an ITR tranny...

thanks guys, really appreciate all your responses. I'll mess around with the crossover this weekend and see from there. I'll definately report back once actual dyno numbers have been found.

Those cams make power so early, it's great for street & autocross... I wouldn't expect really high peak numbers out of them however...

Sorry, I'm running 11.4:1, but when the jun3s go in, I'll be running 11.6:1
