Default greddy oil filter adaptor and autometer

I'm trying to install my autometer oil pressure gauge using the greddy oil filter adaptor. I've search and find out that I'll need a 1/8 PT(BSPT) to 1/8 NPT adapter. I went to home depot, a local auto store and autozone and none of the stores have it. Where can i find one? thanks.

Your easiest option is to tap the Greddy oil filter adaptor using a 1/8 NPT tap.

Clean up the shavings and you are ready to go-

IM me if you have questions.

Thanks. I'm going to see if I can find an adaptor first before tapping.

I'm getting a little confuse as I'm searching at mcmaster. Am I suppose to get the NPT Male x BSPP Female? or vice versa?

Sam

Autometer makes the adapter that you need. Check out their website if you have a chance.

Summit racing also carries the SunPro metric adapter kit which consists of various sized adapters.

Why not just tee off of where the stock oil pressure gauge enters the block? Much simpler.

My dad used the Greddy piece and just retapped the threads and had no problems.

If I can't find an adaptor, I might just tap it. It's something I haven't done before, can you guys give me some tips?

He has the Greddy adapter piece already so he might as well use it.

Thats the first thing that came to my head. The only reason you would need the sandwich adapter is for oil temperature, and/or relocation, and/or cooler.

There is a factory oil pressure threaded port on the backside of the block an inch or two above the oil filter. You can buy a 'Y' adapter so you can run the factory oil pressure sensor and your gauge's oil pressure unit. That is how I have mine hooked up.

I was able to find my brass 'Y' adapter at the local NAPA store. Most marine/auto parts stores carry those NPT/PT brass fittings. Call around to the ones near you. Don't forget the Teflon tape as well!

Get a Tap and Die set - like from harbor freight for $10 I've used mine countless times to chase threads, etc.

I usually spray a touch of WD-40 on the surface, then just run the thing through - takes all of 30 seconds.

Thanks Guys, I was able to locate an adaptor.

Since the search function is down, do you guys know the torque spec for the greddy oil adaptor? How tight should i tighten it?
